The American Dream

Two pairs of jeans.

A wonderful set of genes.

A vision larger than the sky,

A faith so strong, it could fly.

Upon arrival, he had nothing.

Apart from an educational visa and forty dollars,

He was left with roughing.

Pakistan, his hometown,

His skin color, a deep brown.

He arrived in America, alone, not part of a team,

But he had brought with himself, the American Dream.

He came here as an ordinary lad,

Today he stands not only as a respected physician,

But also my dad.
